“$943 / 3br – Spacious Townhomes & Apts in Sacramento”, as featured on Craigslist website. Sounds great right? Why for the same apartment, tenants are sitting on a lease that is due to expire shortly, paying $1080.00?
Call the manager ask if you can renew your lease and get the same rate. Of course not! This rate is for new tenants only. You can move out and move back in, then it may work out for you. A little redundant I must say.
If you renew your lease your rent won’t go up, but it won’t be $943.00 either. If you don’t renew your lease you will be paying $1350 plus water and sewer. Sheeeshhh!
It seems to me if someone is a loyal tenant they should reap the benefits, before someone who comes in brand new. Many can’t move in this economy so they are stuck signing another 1 yr with no benefit of lowering their rent. What is going on here? You tell me.
(Note: Outcome, rent was reduced to $1000.00; something is better then nothing.)
