Children love to feel special. Well, everyone loves to feel special.

Have each member in your family make their individual “Happy List”.

Anything the heart desires; examples from Robyn’s list, walking barefoot, potatoes, cupcakes, family, etc. Her list was a good list, about 30 items.

Each day we try our best to incorporate something from her list. The first day, she was craving breakfast potatoes. I would’ve made them for her, but I wanted to enrich her experience.

In enriching her potato experience, I told her to get out the potato peeler, the potatoes, frying pan, grease, spices, and a knive. I walked her through peeling them, heating the grease, cutting her potatoes, frying them, and seasoning them just right.

I had Robyn make herself potatoes, and in addition to that, she made enough for the whole family. She, also, helped me finish the rest of dinner.

I know, I know breakfast potatoes for dinner, you have to live a little. She finished off with some corn, and fried chicken wings.

Robyn was in awe to see the whole family enjoy what she enjoys so much, and she had the self satisfaction of making them herself. To hear compliments from the whole family she felt she can do anything at that moment. She was so happy, and we were all so proud of her.

Try making your “Happy List”, and commit to it! It’s rewarding, and a special thing one can do for themselves.
