My Warm & Fuzzy Day

I don’t write about my day very often. I’m not sure if that’s what brings you here or not. I tend to write more on lessons and such. The day deserves a mention though! It was a warm and fuzzy one…

As I got up and moving, before coffee time, to my surprise my brother Billy called me! It wasn’t particularly early, just early for him. If he doesn’t have to work, he sleeps! Then another shocker comes my way, he wants me to come over to watch him make his newest creation, Paula Dean’s Peach Cobbler recipe!

I wasn’t shocked that he was cooking, he cooks great, just that he was cooking before noon! Today is my dad’s birthday, his 66th. I assume he wanted to cook it early enough for Daddio to have some yummies when he gets off of work.

It was a good day, I watched the cooking lesson unfold, and to top it off I was able to eat a huge piece. The “brother” gave me way too much. I had to put it down! I was ready to burst. He lives a block away, and I was so tired walking back to my place.

He didn’t just cook this yummy-gooey cobbler; he had a gift for me. I collect elephants. He got me a picture book with old fashioned paper. The paper had dried leaves embedded in it, and the outside was engraved with a wooden elephant. Such a perfect gift from him, it really made my day. My brother hasn’t gotten me a gift in a long while. I was so touched.

I write to you of my day to send you over to Paula Dean’s recipe (click here) and to remind you to take time out for your loved ones. Today was one of the better days I can “really” say I enjoyed. I could’ve stayed home and been cozy, but you never know what awaits you when you get up and go. I plan to get up and go more often, because the little things are huge!

Please share any warm and fuzzy days you can recount! I love to hear from all of you. Please comment below.

Odd Behavior in the Home

6c116387b843e6feSome very strange things have been going on in the Reed home these last few days! A few of the children cleaned up without being told, and not just once!

It all started Friday night, I told the boys to unload the dishwasher. Robyn asked “Can I just do them?” Umm SURE! She not only unloaded, but proceeded to load the dishwasher as well.

The next morning, I hear dishes’ clanking about, to my surprise, Robyn is doing dishes yet again! Hmmm… I dont dare call her on it, she might stop!

Then earlier today, Yissie had the nerve to write on the walls with red crayon! I was not pleased one bit. Dad was just about to walk in and see red crayon on the wall. Not that it matters if he sees that, it’s just that he was on his way home from a long day at work. Who wants to see red crayon on the wall when they walk in the door?

Low and behold Sinya wants to wash the walls! Great, get to washing missy! After washing the crayon off, Sinya wanted to wash more walls. Okay?! Then I look over, Renae is helping her, and then stops to pick up a broom! What is Renae doing with the broom, of all things she is sweeping! Not only did Renae sweep, but her and Sinya proceeded by mopping, cleaning the microwave, and even helped me cook! Oh no!

What’s a mom to do? Are kids supposed to behave in this manner? They left me scared.

Have you ever seen something of this nature?
