Odd Behavior in the Home

6c116387b843e6feSome very strange things have been going on in the Reed home these last few days! A few of the children cleaned up without being told, and not just once!

It all started Friday night, I told the boys to unload the dishwasher. Robyn asked “Can I just do them?” Umm SURE! She not only unloaded, but proceeded to load the dishwasher as well.

The next morning, I hear dishes’ clanking about, to my surprise, Robyn is doing dishes yet again! Hmmm… I dont dare call her on it, she might stop!

Then earlier today, Yissie had the nerve to write on the walls with red crayon! I was not pleased one bit. Dad was just about to walk in and see red crayon on the wall. Not that it matters if he sees that, it’s just that he was on his way home from a long day at work. Who wants to see red crayon on the wall when they walk in the door?

Low and behold Sinya wants to wash the walls! Great, get to washing missy! After washing the crayon off, Sinya wanted to wash more walls. Okay?! Then I look over, Renae is helping her, and then stops to pick up a broom! What is Renae doing with the broom, of all things she is sweeping! Not only did Renae sweep, but her and Sinya proceeded by mopping, cleaning the microwave, and even helped me cook! Oh no!

What’s a mom to do? Are kids supposed to behave in this manner? They left me scared.

Have you ever seen something of this nature?

History of Labor Day

Posted 07 Sep 2009 — by Jennifer
Category Taking a Stand

Labor day for most of us, is a BBQ in the park, family getting together, or a relaxing day off of work! Labor day is much more then that.

Many took a stand and made a difference for each of us to have time off to spend with our families, to stop our children from having to work so that they can get an education, to provide fair wages, and to provide a safer work environment.

Watch this video to see just what was done to make our work life as it is today.

Interview Tomorrow

27767393_cb0d610250As you all may know, I’ve been struggling with dizzy symptoms since February 2008. I lost my job of seven years due to my dizziness, among other symptoms I was having. I love going to work, to the office, a 9 to 5. Health is more important though.

When I was working, I worked a full shift, and knew cutting back hours is what I needed after I got some control over my symptoms. Cutting back hours wasn’t an option at the time, so I have been unemployed pretty much a year now.

I say, pretty much, because I have been working on this website, took a job that didn’t work out to well, and have been doing some volunteer work as of lately.

A part time job is exactly what I need. I need a position in which I could be home before the kids get home from school, so that I can have the energy to be a mom when I get home from work. Getting off at 7pm, with no condition, then helping with homework, and then cooking, means no me time. I need me time. Time to unwind and get myself together for the next day.

A part time job, also, means I can fit school in, and have time to maintain the website, and fit in time to do volunteer work on my good days.

So, wish me luck! I want this job, it’s close, it’s part time, and a good job.

Work NO More!

fcbhsfghfghfhgAfter a long year of health issues, I went back to work as yall know! It was very self rewarding to get back into the office and do what I do best. I was happy to get out of the house. I was happy to have a desk without my children’s little finger prints here and there.

I was so happy to be at work!  I pinned my family photos up at my desk, and bought all my Lil snacks for my desk. I even studied what my job entailed hoping to perfect it how ever I could, knowing “nothing is perfect”. I loved meeting my co workers. My trainer and peer was a riot. I loved being in a training environment with them.

Then…. about a week ago, I was feeling dizzy again. Not so bad I couldn’t work. Just dizzy enough for me to say to myself “Dammit, it’s back!” (Okay I boo hoed a bit, but I’m fine!) Wednesday I was full blown withdrawn, dizzy,  and had my usual body tremors. “Shoot! I cant work like this!”

My job was temp to hire. Miss work in 90 days and you’re gone! So I’m gone. Its okay.

Unkept Mama; Quick Make-Over

Posted 30 May 2009 — by Jennifer
Category Reed Tidbits

1st Day of Work!As you all know I started a new job. I love my job but I wasn’t as ready for it as it was for me. I’ve been hiding in the house for a bit now. Peeking out only when it was a must; tragic trips to the store and the bank was the just of it.

Hiding was a bad idea. I wasn’t keeping up with my bueaty routines at all. So my first day of work was me dressed fly, of course! However, I gained weight so flipping through my clothes turned out to be a huge mess! Flats on, my heels and a backache don’t mesh! We will be pulling those heels out at a later date!

I had to keep my hair in a tight bun to hide the few grey strays, and my 6 month old outdated highlights. Yes they are now what you call “Highlighted Ends”. As for my make-up, the girl goblins ran through and used it all up or crushed it all up, and I have only mascara and this art palette type tray with some color for my lips, my eyes and my cheeks. But this art palette of make-up is so cheap and melted down that it wears off my face within an hour.

So, it is the weekend. Time for some quick fixes.

Dying my hair back to its natural color, will go get a quick $15 hair cut at Great Clips or something. It will do for now, really it will. Will go get the mismanaged eyebrows shaped up, and already bought some shirts to go with my oh-so-many skirts. Spent about $20 on some Cover Girl makeup to get me by. I’m going to be just fine.

So ladies when your on a budget and you need a quick makeover. $15 haircut, $5 hair dye (Rite-Aid always has a sale), some decent mascara, eyeliner, eyeshadow, and lip gloss is all you need for your beautiful face. Not so bad. And you will still look like a hundred bucks.

What is your quick make-over tips? Please share your stories!

The 9 to 5!

Posted 26 May 2009 — by Jennifer

206586412_7214844782_m

My oh my, back to work tomorrow. I’m saddened by a handful of reasons about jumping back into THE 9 TO 5! I’ve been home with my baby since August! Almost a year, time is a-flying! I’m in the middle of Potty Training 101! And bam! I’m off to work. So the process of the potty will slowwwwww down.

Okay, now I  will grip a little bit. I don’t like to grip but hey….

Working means Al has to drive me to work and back each day. Its not up the street. Medically my license was taken from me. I’m better now, well for the most part. But no work means no medical insurance. No medical insurance means no doctors release…. So he drives me each day, there and back…. No peace for him….

Another issue… His kids, Robyn & Jr, we are scheduled to have them Wednesday – Saturday. We are responsible for taking them to school and picking them up on our days. We are now down to one car. I will have my license soon and its only practical I drive myself.. Who will transport them during the week. Side note: Since Robyn become a Teeny Bopper, her and Jr have only come a handful of times. I’d say a good 10 times since this school year started. Not often enough. Another blog on that another time….. With that said, the one car thing isn’t a big deal, by the time they come again we should have another car right? See what we mommies have to think about.
