Walgreens: Great Camera, Pet, Camping & BBQ Deals

Looking in Walgreen’s weekly ad I found a few great deals and steals that I want to share with you!

There is a GE 10.0 Megapixel Digital Camera W1000 for $69.99. You can couple that deal with a 2 GB SD Memory card for the very low price of $9.99. Can’t beat that!

This week they have heighlighted a Pet Shoppe Pet Bed for only $10! My doggies need this, but at this stage in age… they would tear these up big time… I may buy these and wait, I have to see what size they are.

Maybe you’re looking for comfort for you… Camping season is coming, how about a queen size air mattress at $29.99 or a twin size for $9.99! The Reed’s love camping and a few of our mattresses have holes and such. What a great deal. These mattresses are ideal for sleepovers as well, not just for us campers!

Time to BBQ, how about some Kingsford Charcoal at $4.99 for the 6.7-8.3 lb bag. I don’t need charcoal… I’m stocked up (Thank you David)! This is still a great deal I thought I should share though. Happy shopping and save that money. Please list any savings you found by commenting below. Thanks all!

Backyard Campout & Microwaved Smores Recipe

Camping in the backyard is what the Reeds set out to do Friday night. The husband thought what’s a camp out without great food. As I’m in the kitchen getting our meat ready for the BBQ grill and hooking up a mean pot of collard greens, a large bowl of potato salad, some rice, and other great things… kids start to get sleepy and the husband complains that it was too cold while he watched his games.

Come Saturday, since we didn’t camp. I microwaved the smores up for the kids. Yeah, it works.

    Microwaved Smores

1 graham cracker, 1 corner of Hershey’s, and half of a large marshmallow does the trick. All  you do is place half the graham cracker down on a plate, then the chocolate, then your marshmallow… you microwave about 45 seconds and smoosh the other half of your Graham cracker on top. The only thing missing with the microwaved smores is they yummy burnt taste of the marshmallow.

    Back to the Basics

Anyhow, we ate up all the goodies and attempted another camp out. This time it was only Jamarae, Renae, Sinya, and I. Yissie was fast asleep and the husband was too cold and Robyn and Jr already left to their mom’s house. So it was just us four in the ever-so big tent taking pictures and laughing at our goofiness.

Then… the helicopter passes looking for the South Sacramento weekly suspect and Sinya got scared. You guessed it, all of us headed indoors and slept soundly in our beds. Here are some pictures for the fun of it.

SafeGround Sacramento’s Rally at City Hall

SafeGround Sacramento went to City Hall today to have a peaceful rally to speak to our Mayor, City Council and City Manager to address the anti-camping ordinance, and to ask they provide “SafeGround, a legal campground for homeless people who have signed a pledge of no drugs, no alcohol, no violence.”

This is very touching, and needs attention. Here is a video to today’s events provided by Sacramento Loaves & Fishes:
