I’ve been doing way too much and I’m really drained. I need rest BIG TIME! I have issues with slowing down and relaxing. I always ‘burn the candle at both ends’ so to speak. No time to unwind, no time to just rest. I wake up to take four out of six of the kids to school. They’re are three schools I must drive to. Then I’m off to work! I’ve been working full time again since December, and I love every-bit of it. After work, I pick up Robyn, one of the teen girls, from an after school program and rush home to clean or cook, depending on what the husband didn’t have time to do. Then I give the new puppies some love in-between the time I work on Reed What Matter’s website and other blogging gigs I have. Then to bathe the kids that still need help, off to the shower, then off to bed.
Bedtime, as of lately, has been a bit of an issue! Either my dear Yissie is restless and needs me near or there is something more to do so what do I do? I grab my blackberry and work on things from bed while she is tossing about. A mess I can be, I know! Bedtime should be bedtime! I’m sure you I’m not the only one doing this though! I see you!
I promise to myself that this weekend I will rest at some point and do nothing less then relax. While we are discussing the need to relax, here are some wonderful things you can do to relax that are free!
- Read a book
- Do yard work
- Take a walk
- Take a much deserved nap
- Pamper yourself with a bubble bath
- Write a poem or a story
- Take a scenic drive
- Take the kids to the park
- Have a picnic
- Meditate (if you do that kinda thing)
- Make, yes MAKE, your spouse massage you
- Go to bed earlier then normal
- Take a long shower
- Make a flower arrangement
- Work on crafts
- Play a game
- Catch up on your TIVO (or DVR)
- Movie night
I’m so neurotic I plan to relax by taking on half my list this weekend. Funny, eh?
