In my backyard is a weed. It’s a tall an ugly sticky weed. Wake up bright and early this weed is magnificent and speaks one word, that word is beauty! A beautiful purple flower rests on top of each of these weeds. Simple and beautiful is this weed, I can find the good in such a thing.
Throughout the day I sing a ‘song and dance’. I move to the beat of my own drum, something that would sound like a song from a Yo Gabba Gabba special! I’m an extremely happy person, finding good in even the bad. I find the good through a lesson learned or I find a way to reason with the negative, seeing the person or the situation for what it is. At work a few ladies have told me that I always have a smile on my face and they notice I’m a very happy person. I know how happy I am, but hearing others around me take notice is very special. Others noticing my state of happiness means I’m beaming with happiness! Beaming with happiness is much different then simply being a happy person.
I think my happiness stems from the way I see life and from the people I surrond myself with. I keep drama away at all cost. As I said before, I sing a tune through out the day. I meant this in a literal sense. I sing stupid songs throughout my day, something my step father did. We always laughed as kids and now my kids laugh at me. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve had moments in my darkest hours, just as we all have. Again, it’s when I pick myself up and when I find the good in my situation that I’m most proud of myself and the situation I have overcome.
Basically, looking over the years I’m getting older and wiser. I’m at peace with who I’ve become and love myself for the good and bad. Of great importance, I look at people even in their ugliest moment and seek the good always trying to look pass the negative factors. No matter what you are, a person or a purple flowered weed waiting to be mowed down in my backyard I look at the beauty of the person or the situation.
Do you have song and dance? What beat is your drum telling? How do you look past the ugly and see the beauty in people or your situations? Please share by commenting below.
