Ford F-150Car Care information is vital in selecting a car to purchase, in up keeping your current car, and in being able to find affordable repair services when your car needs attention. A one stop shop for all your needs is RepairPal.com. These days are busy for most of us and we are all trying to save that extra dollar. Just having a good resource for our vehicle needs will help each of us to save time and money.

To show you what RepairPal.com has to offer and to test out their site myself I searched their database for a 1999 Ford F-150. I found out so much about this powerful beast of a truck. Clickable from my search are reviews and ratings from owners showing pros and cons of their experience, a questions and answer forum, common problem information, recall information, repair cost, finding the best shop for your needs, a buyable search, and much more.

I know I already gave you tons of benefits found on RepairPal.com but I’m not quite done. Let’s say you need repairs and you don’t know where to go. RepairPal.com has a directory for auto shops. I set a search by zip code and my car’s make and tons of options came up for shops that specialize in my vehicle. Another great tip in regards to finding a shop is there is an  estimate tab on their tool bar and it takes you to a great tool perfect for car repairs. Search for your car, the symptom of your car, and enter your zip code from the estimate tab and you will find price estimates, advise and the best shop for what you entered in your search.

Just for kicks, my check engine light is on in my car currently. I wanted to see what RepairPal.com could tell me that I didn’t know being I’m pretty knowledgeable about cars. RepairPal.com advised me what it means and gave me sound advise due to my check engine light being on, let me know how serious of a problem this may be for my car, and advised me what could cause my check engine light to be on.

I have many friends and family members that will benefit from this site. I believe sending them to RepairPal.com will change the tone of things in my household. My husband will get less calls from those that just don’t get it and he will find the information on this site very useful. Friends, this is a sponsored post but I truly mean every word I have posted here. Such a great site with so many tools and I wish I had access to this site many years ago. To think of the money and time I’ve wasted searching for the right answers. I hope you find this site as much as a benefit as I do. Please check out RepairPal.com and let me know what your thoughts are by commenting below.

Overwhelmed & Overweight

Overwhelmed and Overweight, how many of you came here because you feel the same way? I was browsing iMommyTalk.com and came across, How concerned are you with your children’s weight?, and even put in a lengthy reply. My son, Jamarae, at age 10 is overweight, and my daughter, Renae, at age 14 is underweight with the other four children being the right weight for their height. It’s not just the two kids with the “weight watch” issue, the husband and I have gained our fair share of pounds these last five years or so.

So now that I’ve told you that there are three size groups in my family… Too big, too small, and just right (I’m sure I sound like Goldilocks examining the three bears beds)… what to do? I just graduated to 2% milk! I’ve been having the family drink whole milk all this time because my dear Renae, being underweight, and their being a baby in the house. We all agree it’s time to leave whole milk on the shelf. Besides the milk factor, we watch our serving portions (excluding Holidays), and we aren’t lazy (well I can be at times, but shhh). We move about a lot, getting our task done and such.

My big concern is this, being of three size groups we do have our separate needs for what we eat and don’t eat, all the while getting our basic food group portions! We all should exercise more, no doubt about that! How do we do this on a budget and having different schedules at times? I’ve been Google searching away and found, Family-Health-and-Nutrition.com. Brilliant, articles and more articles about my trials, Oh boy! Kids Nutrition Blog!, Healthy Grocery Tips On A Budget, Food Pyramid Guide For Busy Moms!, Free exercise tips for the whole family!… The list goes on and on! I’m very excited to say the least.

I’ve been paying attention to the little things when it comes to health, I’m setting a goal to step things up a notch! I’m taking a lead and making things happen one step at a time! Time for better food and more exercise, isn’t it about time? Who is in on the plan with me? Does anyone want to work as support for each other with me? Please comment below and share any tips you may have for the busy family.

Guest Post: My Legacy to my Granddaughter, Hailey

journal One medChildren …they are our future. But what are they learning? Where do they get there Wisdom from? Many, many moons ago children looked to the elders of the family or tribes for wisdom and advice. They revered their elders and honored them. Stories, antidotes and knowledge were passed down from generation to generation via our elders.

The world we live in now, is a different place. Children are taught by the state, parents are busy, story time doesn’t exist in most houses and children don’t always get to know their grandparents due to people moving for jobs or other reasons.

There are so many things we want to share with our grandchildren, but how do we do it? How do we share our thoughts, dreams and wisdom with them if we are not with them all the time? We journal!

I started a journal for Hailey the day she was born. I was blessed enough to watch her take her first breath in this world and got to hold her within the first 15 minutes of her life. I found a great journal, based on the song “I Hope you Dance” by Lee Ann Womack. (It’s a wonderful song, providing some great thoughts and wishes) I went home and shared my joy of her birth with her, in her journal. I write to her, not about her. This is something I will give her when she is older.

I tell her about things we did together and include pictures. I press flowers that she has given me. I share my thoughts on life and events that are going on in the world at the current time (nothing too heavy or depressing though…this is not a place to purge your pain. I keep personal journals for that, that someday she will also have when I’m gone) . I share quotes and poems. I pass on advice, wisdom and knowledge. This journal is for her story, through my eyes.

journal Two med

So, start a journal for your grandchildren. Pass on the joy you receive with them being in your life. Hailey is my sunshine. I’m lucky enough to see her everyday so I have a lot to write about. . She was also my inspiration for my business; Hailey’s Dragonfly Garden of Botanicals.

So, go get a journal or even a notebook and tell your grandchild what fun you had with them when you were both sitting on the kitchen floor and banging on the pots and pans like drums. Tell them how they made you laugh when they splashed in the tub for the first time. It doesn’t matter what you write in, as long as you share from the heart!

Joyful Writing,

Dakota Dawn
